From this point of view, layers of Old SuHua highway's history can be shown clearly. The one that's carved out of the cliff is the oldest one, then the abandoned tunnel, and finally the latest -longer, safer and faster tunnel that's deep inside the mountain. It shows the trend of how this road is going to evolve, that is the final goal of a all-tunnel highway.
從這個視角可以清楚看出舊蘇花公路演變的層次。從最外層岩壁鑿出來的舊路，及中期的清水隧道和現在更深入山體，圖中不可見的匯德隧道。顯示出蘇花公路演變的趨勢，也許是最終只有幾條超長隧道蘇花高速公路。
